Cyclist Morocco Emergency Guide ("the App") is a fully offline emergency reference tool designed for cyclists traveling in Morocco. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data, permissions, and user information. The App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All functionality operates locally on your device.
2. Information We Collect
The App is designed with a strict offline-first architecture. We do not collect, track, or share:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone, etc.)
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Advertising IDs or tracking pixels
- Background location or movement history
3. Location Permission & Usage
The App requests ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permission solely to display your current
coordinates when you explicitly tap the "Show My Coordinates" feature. Location data is:
- Fetched once per session in the foreground only
- Displayed temporarily on your screen
- Never stored, logged, or transmitted
- Immediately discarded when you close the screen or exit the App
You may deny location permission at any time. The App will continue to function normally; only the coordinate display feature will be unavailable.
4. Local Storage & User Preferences
The App uses device-local storage (AsyncStorage / Android SharedPreferences) exclusively
for:
- Saving your preferred language (English, French, Arabic)
- Marking favorite emergency guides or phrases
- Remembering UI preferences
All stored data remains on your device and is never synced or backed up externally. You can clear this data at any time via Android Settings → Apps → Cyclist Morocco Emergency Guide → Storage → Clear Data.
5. Third-Party Services & Sharing
The App contains no third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising networks, or cloud services. We do not sell, share, or transmit any information to external parties. Sharing your coordinates or emergency contacts is only initiated manually by you using your device's native share/SMS functions.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. As an offline reference tool with no data collection, it is safe for all age groups. Parents or guardians may use the App alongside minors without privacy concerns.
7. Your Rights & Control
You have full control over your data and device permissions:
- Revoke Permissions: Manage via Android Settings → Permissions
- Delete Local Data: Clear app storage from Android Settings
- Uninstall: Removes the App and all locally stored data instantly
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical or legal changes. Updates will be posted within the App and on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
